Mobile phone maker Nokia Corp. on Monday launched a software and media store that aims to compete with Apple Inc.’s popular online marketplace, and unveiled its latest line of phones targeted at business users.

Espoo, Finland-based Nokia said its Ovi store will let users buy apps directly from their mobile phones, along with films and music.

Last year Cupertino-based Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) launched an application store for its iPhone; France Telecom’s Orange also launched a similar store this week.

Nokia said it will personalize what it offers a user based on preferences, and will also display the favorite purchases of friends.
